Non-resident tax ID application

Canada is a tax country. I am not a Canadian resident but I have income in Canada. Do I need to file a tax return? Overseas residents or non-Canadian tax residents are obliged to report their income to the Canada Revenue Agency when they generate income in Canada. If the conditions are met, you can apply for relevant deductions from the tax bureau.

Filing taxes for non-tax residents

To file taxes in Canada, you must have a tax ID number.

Non-residents can apply for an Individual Tax Number (ITN) first

or Temporary Tax Number (TTN).

✅ Current residential address is not (i.e. Canadian residential address)

✅Personal phone number

✳️ The fee is $113 and the government processing time is approximately 45 days.
